Vision Zero was a major focus at the 23rd World Congress of Safety and Health at Work in Sydney, Australia, 27–30 November 2023. The ISSA organized seven sessions focused on Vision Zero, along with six further sessions related to the ISSA sections work. In addition, the ISSA had a large presence in the exhibition area promoting the Vision Zero strategy. The winning entries of the 12th International Media Festival for Prevention were announced on 28 November 2023 during the IMFP Special Media Session at the 23rd World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Sydney, Australia. Six entries received the IMFP award. The use of complex systems and installations requires a suitable risk assessment for each individual explosion risk. A modular structure has been developed for the explosion safety of bulk solids systems, which makes it easier to divide the assessment for a system regarding the explosion risk into smaller units, so-called “modules”. The new Vision Zero Practical Guide to Prevent Fatal and Serious Occupational Accidents in the trade and goods logistics is based on reliable data on fatal and serious occupational accidents from 2012 to 2019 in Germany (BGHW). It can be assumed that the findings in Germany and recommendations can also be used in other countries.
