ISSA Special Commission on Prevention

Dear Colleagues,

We proudly present the first edition of the eNews of the ISSA Special Commission on Prevention! Welcome to our biannual electronic newsletter.

The Special Commission represents the 14 prevention sections of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). All sections, partly branch-oriented and partly focused on cross-cutting issues, bring  a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of safety and health at work.

We would like to share our expertise with you and communicate current information on occupational safety and health. Communication should not be a one-way street. Our platform is intended for lively international exchange on all topics concerning safety and health at work.

In addition to section articles, you will also find partner articles and timely notifications on prevention-related events and opportunities for partnerships.

The Special Commission in collaboration with the ISSA Prevention Section on Information for Prevention has worked over the last year to plan and design the newsletter. As with many things this year, our plans to publish in early 2020 were interrupted by COVID-19. While adapting to the “new normal” in the workplace, ISSA sections responded to “new workplace” health and safety information needs. We took this opportunity to include some of ISSA’s COVID-19 related work in this first edition of eNews.

I would like to give my sincere thanks to the colleagues who contributed to the first eNews edition. My special thanks go to Donna Van Bogaert from the Information Section. Her unwavering commitment has ensured that the idea to publish the Special Commission’s eNews could be realized.

Please let us know what you think of the ISSA Special Commission on Prevention eNews. We want to know if there is other information you would like to have included or ideas for articles. Feel free to provide feedback to our eNews editor, Donna Van Bogaert at [email protected].

My best wishes for your good health and safety.

Martina
