Electrical safety for children A new leaflet on electrical safety for children aged 6–12 is now available online in German, English, and Spanish. The publication raises awareness of electrical hazards at home and outdoors and also teaches school-aged children appropriate behaviour to adopt in an emergency situation. Preparing an explosion protection document This revised brochure provides practical assistance for preparing an explosion protection document. It outlines a systematic procedure for identifying hazards, classifying potentially explosive atmospheres, and determining necessary safety measures. Requirements for electrical work The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published the first edition of Technical Specification 63527:2025 – “Safe management and operation of electrical installations”. This marks a significant step toward harmonizing international requirements for safe electrical work. Safety of LPG systems This revised compendium on the safety of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) systems addresses its use as a fuel. It enables engineers and safety specialists, without specific LPG knowledge, to assess potential hazards like fire, explosion, or poisoning. Make your instruction sessions engaging Held on 17–18 September 2025 in Hamburg, this conference demonstrated effective approaches to instruction, moving beyond tedious compliance. Hosted by BG Verkehr, experts showed instruction is vital for safety, smooth workflows, efficient work methods, and core company processes. "Staying Sharp" takeaways The symposium “Staying Sharp,” held on 5 November 2025 at the A+A Congress, addressed individual alertness, fatigue, monotony, distraction, and emerging technologies as risks and opportunities. Delivered with AAA Luxembourg, the event resulted in five key published takeaways. International conference on safety and innovation From 11 to 13 March 2025, INAIL, Italy organized, in collaboration with the ISSA Section Machine and System Safety, the international Conference on Safety and Innovation. The event was dedicated to advanced solutions and innovative systems for the safety of workers. Vision Zero guide on violence in health services In November 2025, the ISSA on Prevention of Occupational Risks in Health Services published a new Vision Zero guide for preventing and dealing with violence in health services, available in English, French, Spanish and Deutsch. Hospital architecture excursion review The September 2025 excursion in the Netherlands, following the sustainable hospital architecture symposium in Hamburg, showcased three innovative hospitals, highlighting how architecture, organization, and technology support sustainable, patient-centered care. Conference on biological hazards in the workplace From 6 to 7 October 2025, the international conference SCBOH 2025 – “Biohazards at the Workplace: Magnitude of the Problem and Potential Solutions” gathered global experts, researchers, students and practitioners to discuss workplace biohazards in Hamburg. New webinars on digital manufacturing The project group “Digital Manufacturing” from the the ISSA Section Machine and System Safety launch a new international webinar series “From Lab to Line: Practical OSH Strategies for Digital Manufacturing” focusing on the intersections of OSH, Wellbeing, AI, Digitalization, and Industrial Security. |
